Although qualified to teach a couple of different variations of yoga, i have chosen to teach ashtanga to polo players-

Ashtanga Primary Series (APS). I choose this mainly because

-in polo the strength is still important, it’s great to be more flexible and lean out for a hook as an example but at the same time you need to be able to pull yourself back in. This yoga particularly is harnessesing a balance between flexibility and strength. If you do not have time for strength training as well as stretching this should be a great balancing option.

-it will give you something you can practice for the rest of your lives, a sequence that means with or without a phone or a class, all you will need is space and to remember the sequence

-because it is the same sequence some kind find it repetitive, in the same stroke it requires and encourages dedication and grounding

-it gives attention to the whole body not just working specific bits
